These topics are generally common across most technical posts (SI/ASI).

1. General Knowledge & Numerical Aptitude (25 Marks)

  • General Knowledge: Current Affairs (National & International), Indian History, Geography, Indian Constitution, Sports, Awards & Honors, Important Days, Books & Authors, Science & Technology.
  • Numerical Aptitude: Number Systems, HCF & LCM, Averages, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, Mensuration.

2. Human Anatomy & Physiology (25 Marks)

  • The Cell: Structure and function.
  • Blood: Composition, Blood Groups, Clotting factors.
  • Systems: Skeletal System, Muscular System, Nervous System (Brain/Spinal Cord), Cardiovascular System (Heart/Circulation), Respiratory System, Digestive System, Excretory System, Reproductive System.
  • Sense Organs: Eye, Ear, Skin, etc.

Detailed Syllabus: Part C (Professional Trade Subjects)

This section carries the highest weightage (50 Marks) and depends entirely on the post you have applied for.

For SI (Staff Nurse)

  • Medical-Surgical Nursing: Common diseases, nursing management, pharmacology.
  • Community Health Nursing: Health policies, hygiene, nutrition, epidemiology.
  • Midwifery & Gynaecological Nursing: Pregnancy, labor, post-natal care.
  • Pediatric Nursing: Child health, immunizations.
  • Mental Health Nursing: Psychiatric disorders and management.
  • First Aid & Emergency Care.

For ASI (Lab Technician)

  • Biochemistry: Carbohydrates, Proteins, Lipids, Enzymes, Liver Function Tests, Kidney Function Tests.
  • Microbiology: Bacteria, Viruses, Sterilization techniques, Immunology.
  • Haematology: CBC, ESR, Hemoglobin estimation, Blood Banking.
  • Histopathology & Cytology: Tissue processing, staining.
  • Clinical Pathology: Urine analysis, Stool examination.

For ASI (Operation Theatre Technician)

  • OT Management: Sterilization, Fumigation, OT Etiquette.
  • Anaesthesia: Types of Anaesthesia, Drugs used, Anaesthesia machine parts.
  • Surgical Instruments: Identification and use of various surgical tools.
  • Patient Care: Pre-operative and Post-operative care monitoring.

Physical Standards (PST)

Candidates must also meet the physical standards to qualify.

  • Height (Male): 165 cm (General/OBC/SC) | 162.5 cm (ST)
  • Height (Female): 150 cm (General/OBC/SC) | 150 cm (ST)
  • Chest (Male Only): 76-81 cm (Unexpanded-Expanded)
