Uttar Pradesh Child Development Service and Nutrition Department (ICDS UP) is currently accepting online applications for the recruitment of Anganwadi Workers (AWW) and Anganwadi Helpers (AWH). 3. Eligibility Criteria
A. Educational Qualification:
- Anganwadi Worker (Karyakatri): Must have passed 12th Class (Intermediate) from a recognized board.
- Anganwadi Helper (Sahayika): Must have passed 12th Class (Intermediate).
- (Note: Previously this was 5th/10th pass, but recent notifications mandate Intermediate for Helpers as well. Check your specific district notification to be sure).
B. Age Limit (as on Jan 1, 2026):
- Minimum: 18 Years
- Maximum: 35 Years
- Age Relaxation: As per SC/ST/OBC state norms.
C. Residential Requirement:
- The applicant must be a female resident of the same Ward / Gram Sabha / Nyay Panchayat where the vacancy exists. You cannot apply for a different ward.
- Income: Preference is given to candidates from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.
4. How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)
- Visit the Official Website:Go to upanganwadibharti.in.
- Registration:
- Click on “Register” (or “New Registration”).
- Enter your Mobile Number and basic details to get an OTP.
- Fill Application Form:
- Select your District, Project (Block), and Ward/Village.
- The system will show if there is a vacancy in your specific ward.
- If a vacancy exists, proceed to fill in your personal details, educational marks, and upload documents.
- Upload Documents:
- Photo & Signature (JPG format).
- Educational Certificates (12th Marksheet).
- Domicile/Residence Proof.
- Caste/EWS Certificate (if applicable).
- Submit:
- Review the form and click “Final Submit”.
- Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
5. Selection Process (Merit List)
There is NO Interview and NO Written Exam.
- Merit List Calculation: Marks obtained in High School (10th), Intermediate (12th), and Graduation (if applicable) are considered.
- Formula: (Points are calculated based on the percentage of marks).
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for physical verification of original documents.
- Final Joining: Appointment letters are issued by the District Program Officer (DPO).
