Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Educational and professional qualifications for SSB Constable Tradesman and Driver Recruitment 2026 are post-specific and must be from recognised boards, ITI, or institutes.

For Constable (Nursing Orderly): 10th pass, First Aid certificate from St. John’s Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India, and minimum 1 year working experience as Nursing Orderly in a 50-bedded hospital or institution recognised by Central or State Government.
Age Limit
The age limit is as follows: Constable (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter) – 18 to 23 years. Constable (Carpenter) – 18 to 25 years. Constable (Veterinary, Driver, Nursing Orderly) – 18 to 27 years.

Selection Process
The selection process includes the following stages: Stage 1 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Stage 2 – Written Examination. Stage 3 – Trade or Skill Test. Stage 4 – Medical Examination. Candidates must qualify in each stage to move to the next.
Stage 1 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
PET consists of a 4.8 km race in 24 minutes for male candidates and a 2.4 km race in 18 minutes for female candidates. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must attend all other stages.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who qualify PET will undergo PST where height and chest (for male candidates) are measured as per category and region-wise standards. Those not meeting the minimum standards are rejected.
Stage 2 – Written Examination (CBT)
The written exam is 2 hours in duration, carries 100 marks, and consists of 100 MCQs covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English or Hindi.
